So Corbin's Grandma wanted to teach us how to make Strawberry Jam since strawberries are in season right now (I guess?) and you can buy a lot of them for cheap this time of year. So I stopped by Costco and picked us up a HUGE box of strawberries, Corbin called his grandma, and we had a date set to stock up our food storage.
Yes, I'm aware we don't look good in this picture..
We went over Monday, Family Night! This is what we did for our FHE. We had a great lesson from the Ensign and got a lot of really good advice from Grandma. She was hilarious that night, I saw a totally new side of her. She told us, "I don't like swearing and I try not to, but sometimes someone does something that bugs you or something bad happens and its very therapeutic to close your eyes and let a certain word cross your mind. My certain word happens to start with an "S"." haha I thought that was so funny coming from his grandma! Oh and on our way over there we realized we forgot the strawberries in our fridge so we turned around and called her to let her know what happened and that we'd be a little late and she goes, "That's alright, couples in love can often be forgetful." haha
Smashing strawberries came natural for Corb, he was great at it! We didn't quite have enough strawberries to make 2 full batches so our second batch is a mixed berry batch from berries Grandma had in her freezer. That batch is actually our favorite.
Grandma gave us a bunch of jars from her storage room. She didn't want us to have to buy any. She said she knows what it's like to be poor when you're first married :)
Yummyy. I eat toast a lot more often these days :)
So thank you Grandma Englund for the great time and the delicious Jam! We love it and You!
